Let it snow...

I am feeling a lot better now after my nasty cold. Its still about a bit but not too bad thank goodness!
Anyway here's some more Christmas journal pages to share with you.Day 3- the Christmas tree on the triangle in our village.Day 4- I spent the whole morning in church with the kids from school. They had a lovely, festive morning making Christmas cards, stain glass windows and a candle decoration. I was helping them make the Christmas cards, I was in charge of the glitter! They were really good and I really enjoyed it even though it was freezing in church as the heating was broken! Day 5- a double page as we went to London to see the Christmas lights. They were amazing.

Day 6- Is my sister and Brother-in-law's Christmas tree as they got it and decorated with them. It was funny buying a tree from the pavement! My sister saw these tacky robins in the pound shop and had to get them she loved them! One was even made to come home with us! And Claire if your reading this, he is sat on our tree!!

There is more to share, so I be back again with those. I am quite far behind again so I need to catch up hopefully in the dead days after Christmas I can get quite a bit done.

We did have some snow! It was a lovely surprise to see it all white. I love snow! It is still white here but I don't think it will be for much longer as it's now raining, which is a shame it couldn't hang around until Christmas. We are lucky though to of had snow twice this year and so close to Christmas.

I can't believe it Christmas eve tomorrow! I am at home for Christmas with my family. My brother and sister are coming for Boxing day which will be nice to spend the day together.

If I don't get back before then I hope you all have a very Happy Christmas!

As always thanks for looking. xx

Festive things

Well, I don't know where the days have gone! I'm still here! I've been quite busy, so here's a bit of what I've been up to. There's no Christmas journal to show you yet, I need to photograph it so I will be back with that soon, also need to catch up with it!

First up is the advent calendar I made for my nephew. I bought it before last Christmas but I decided he was a bit young for it then. It was just a piece of material like this. After I was finished with it looked like this!

I stitched all the pockets on with the sewing machine and added some wadding on to Santa for the edges on his coat.
I cut out Rowan's name from felt and stitched it on with blanket stitch and then quilted it. I added wadding to the back and stitched around santa's face and chimney to hold it in place. I added a rod to hold it straight and put some nice festive red material on the back. I filled it with Pepper Pig jigsaw pieces as Pepper is his favourite thing at the minute! Thought jigsaw was a good thing to put in it for his age, I also give his mum some chocolate coins for it too! It was quite a lot of work but I was really pleased with how it turned out in the end and Rowan loves it and that's the main thing!

I have been doing quite a few festive things which are all or will be in my Christmas journal! I went to London at the weekend to see my sister and Brother-in-law and to see the Christmas lights. The lights were amazing, I took lots of photos for my journal but here's a little taster!
Hopefully we will be getting our tree this weekend, I love real Christmas trees you can't beat that smell true Christmas! I'll be back soon. xx

More to share

Here's some bits and pieces to share with you. The first layout I made a little while ago and haven't uploaded it yet, it needs to be in today!!! It is for the studio 16th challenge.

The challenge was:

1.Dust off those eyelet setters! Yep, we want to see what you can do with those eyelets you all bought and never used! If you honestly don’t have any, then you can substitute them with brads.
2.Your title should include a number
3.Complete your journaling in a ‘list’ style

Can you believe I actually don't own any eyelets or brads! I never got into them so I couldn't do that part of the challenge but I did the other 2 parts!

The photo is of my nephew on his first Birthday. I wanted to record everything he loved doing at 1 year old. This one is another of my nephew on the train slide at the park. I made it look like the slide and I got my shimmer mists out again.

I can't wait to get started on my Christmas journal tomorrow, I haven't made one before. I'm not following anything just making my own up really. I've been doing some prep for it, I made these number spots.

And I also made my own journaling cards, which I really pleased with. Sorry about the photo, poor light!

There will be more to share soon, with the beginning of my journal!

Thanks for looking.

Awarding

My lovely friend Beki has given me this award, it's a really nice one so I have to pass it on. I can't believe my little blog has been given 2 awards already! Thank you Beks.

I have to tell you 5 random facts about me, let me think!!

1. I climbed up Snowdon when I was about 11 years old and got to the top! I even have a badge to prove it!

2. I lactose intolerant, so I can't eat much dairy produce.

3. I went traveling around New Zealand in a camper van for 3 weeks in 2002. I celebrated my 18th Birthday there by watching whales and dolphins in the wild, it was fab.

4. I love ribbon, I can't get enough of it! Every layout I make usually has some sort of ribbon of it.

5. I have a dog called Jack, he's a black and white Cocker spaniel. He's gorgeous and such good company!

I would like to pass this on to 5 people with blogs that I love, they are:

1. Laura 2. Sarah 3. Reija 4. Angie 5. Rachael

All your scrapping is brilliant!

Right that's it for now, I have more to share, some layouts and some Christmas journal prep so I'll be back soon!

Hope you're having a great weekend. xx

Kraft

Here's a bit of a catch up, I haven't been felling great lately got a bit of a cold about me so haven't been doing all that much but here's what I have been doing!

My sister's birthday meal went well the weekend before last. We had a lovely family day, it felt a bit like Christmas! This is the cake I made her, it was a chocolate and Guinness cake. I hadn't made it before but it went down really well and my sis loved it, which is the main thing! I'm afraid I couldn't quite fit all the candles on!! After lunch we went to a patchwork quilt show it was really good. There were so many different types there. My sister has been making her patchwork quilt for about 3 years so it was good for her to see and to make her want finish off hers. Really looking forward to seeing it finished sis!

I managed to find my album for my Christmas journal. I got it in Paperchase, it's a small kraft binder. I also got the pages that go in it. I'm really pleased with it, I just need my Christmas papers. still waiting for the new October afternoon papers to arrive. They should be here some time this week so fingers crossed! I'm going to use bits of other ranges that I like too.

I went to a Craft fair on Saturday, it was a bit disappointing not all that much there and it was a bit pricey! A little early to be hearing carol singers, it would of helped if they were them singing better!! It was such a awful day, the rain was pouring down so got a bit wet! I hope the weather improves soon.

Nearly finished my Christmas cards, just need to make a few more for my mum and mine. I have currently made about 90 cards so I've done quite well! I am hoping to get them all finished by the 1st so I can get on with my journal. I can't believe it's nearly December!! I am working on present for my nephew that needs to be finish by then so I need to get on with it! Can you guess what it is yet?!!

Anyway think that's about it. I will have some crafty things to show you soon.
Take care
xx

A bit sketchy

This is layout I did of the Twisted sketch #021. I made it a bit different to the sketch. I have wanted to do some bubble wrap painting for a while now so I thought this was the one to do it on! The twist was to use alpha so that was easy! I used more October Afternoon papers, yes I'm addicted!!!
I had a lovely day with my nephew on Saturday we took him to a park so he could go on the swings which he's loves so much he never wants to get off! When you stop the swing to get him off he shakes he head!! I love all the autumn colours about so I took some photos of the lovely trees so I can scrap them.

When we started walking down the hill to go but my nephew had other ideas, he wanted to get back on the swing!!

I love this photo, I just need some nice new autumny papers to go with it!!
I have been trying to finish off my sister's Christmas card order, I need to get on with them as she wants them by the weekend after next. I'm not doing too bad on them so it shouldn't take too long to finish them.
Hopefully I'll be back soon with more layouts for you! xx

A Challenge

Oh dear, sorry I haven't got around to blogging sooner, must try harder!! I managed to do much scrapping this week, I've been quite busy but I have a couple of layouts to show you that I haven't shared yet. This first one I did is for the 16th October challenge at The Studio. They have changed the challenges now so you don't have to do all 3 parts, they are;
1. You must use (at least) 1 new and 1 old sheet of patterned paper on your layout.
2. Use glimmer mist or a technique to get a similar effect on your layout.
3. The subject of your layout must be YOU!

So I did 2 parts of the challenge, I used my glimmer mist for the background, I love them but they are messy to use! I did use it in a pizza box but still got it everywhere!! And I used a bit of some old American Crafts paper and a bit of newer My Eye Mind paper. This is the result, hope you like it, I'm really pleased with it!!

This one is the other October Afternoon paper one I made of my little nephew seeing the animals at our local farm shop. The papers were perfect for the photos.

I cut the animals from the paper and stuck them on foam to make them stand out.

Hopefully I will get in some scrapping today, I'm missing it!!

My Mum and I made our Christmas cake this morning, it's in the oven as we speak! The mixture tasted yummy so fingers crossed it come out the oven nicely!

Not much planned for the weekend, we are looking after my nephew for a few hours on Saturday so we might do something with him.

On an October afternoon...

....I created 2 layouts with my October Afternoon papers!!

This is them aren't they lovely and that's just one side of them!! This first layout was a quick one made out of old OA papers and just a little bit of new. The photos are of when we were on holiday in Wales.

And this one is made just from the new 'Farm Fresh' range. It's of a very great chicken I saw when we took my nephew up to the local farm shop to see the animals, I love that chicken! I'm really pleased with how this one turned out, I love the colours.

I have just finished off another one but I need to photograph that yet so I will leave that for another day.

I had a nice quite weekend, didn't do much. My brother and nephew came for Sunday dinner which was nice and then we went for a little walk in some local forestry. My nephew was on top form, making us laugh!

I have finished my first order of Christmas cards and I'm now on the next order of 30 for my sister so busy, busy!

Anyway that's it for now I'll be back soon with that other layout.

Thanks for looking. x

A couple more

I have a couple more layouts to share with you from the weekend. I bought these lovely journaling spots from Folksy a while ago, you can get them here. They are really good, I can see I will be useing them lots. I used one of them on this layout using Cosmo, Earth Love. The photos are from our holiday last year in the Lake District. We went to see a big waterfall and down by it there was this old tree where loads of people had stuck 1ps and 2ps in it for luck it looked great so had to take some photos!
The next layout is from last Christmas. I haven't scrapped any photos from Christmas yet as it brings back bad memories because I was so ill with a bug but it was my nephews first Christmas so I had to scrap that! I used My Minds Eye, Be Merry, I love these papers, I've had it for a while waiting to be used. Sorry the photos are a bit dark cos of the dull weather.
I cut the snowmen and trees from the other papers and raised them up on foam.
Talking of Christmas, I have had my first few orders for Christmas cards yay! That will kept me busy, making them!
My gorgeous October Afternoon papers arrived, they did take a while to get here because of the postal strikes. I'm now in the middle of creating some layouts with them.
I've got more to share soon!
Thanks for your Lovely comments they mean a lot. xx

Seeing Clearly

Here's the acrylic album I made for my sister-in-law. I started it ages ago and then picked it up again and managed to finish it for her Birthday a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed making it and I will definitely make another. I really got in to it in the end and have more ideas to try out. I used lots of different papers that I collected for it and small Thickers for the title on the front. You can see it that well but I printed the edges of the pages with white paint.

A bit more paint in green this time! The orange swirls on the edge of the photo I drew with permanent marker.

I must say I do love these Laura Ashley velvet rub-ons. I got them in a shop I went to as they were on sale but they are really worth it. I also used Daisy D rub-ons too, they do look really good on the acrylic.
I had a lovely, busy weekend, it was nice to see my sis and brother-in-law and it was a lovely family party for my auntie's Birthday and she really enjoyed it too!
I've ordered the new October afternoon paper so they should be on there way to me, I can't wait!!
We've had my little nephew this afternoon so I off to have a rest!!
Thanks for looking. x
