Hop to it

A while ago now, you may remember, I was a part of Rebekah's Birthday blog hop. Just before the hop she did a giveaway of a kit she made of all the things she used to make her Birthday layout and I was the lucky one that won it! The kit was lovely, right up my street as it had cupcakes in it! This was the kit...

And here's the layout I made, I made it quite a while ago now and forgot to blog it so I thought I really must!
The layout is of my Birthday treat to London in April to see Sister Act, I even used my ticket!
I will leave you with this special date...
... the date I launch the project I've been working on. Make sure you keep the date in mind so you can check it out!

We've had my nephew most of the day today which was lovely, we spent ages in the park this afternoon, he had to try everything in the park at least twice so I'm now in need of a rest!!

Thanks for looking xx

Pretty

I had a lovely day yesterday with this little chap...

...my nephew. Mum and I took him to the beach, he loved it we were building sandcastles! We had our picnic on the beach and had a play then we went in search of an ice cream, it was yummy! He did manage to cover me in sand though, I was finding it everywhere last night!!!
Yesterday's challenge at The Studio was to Use old and new stash on same LO. This is my take, I used lovely new OA and old Sassafras Lass and some old plain chipboard letters.
I thought the letters were I bit plain so I painted them in yellow paint like this...
...then when they were dry I then painted little pink flowers on them and finally glossed them to finish them off, I was really pleased with how they turned out!
That's all there is to share at the moment, I have made some other things but I can't show you those at the minute! I have been very busy setting up my exciting new project, which I will tell you about soon so watch this space!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekends. xx

Jazz it up

Today's challenge has gone up at The Studio. The challenge today is 'Scrap off the page: Make something other than a scrapbook page with your scrapping supplies. It can be anything you like, so use your imagination!
I bought a cheap little note book recently so I can write down all my scrapping/crafting ideas in it, without leaving bits of paper everywhere! It was a bit plain though so I thought I would cover it and this is how it turned out...
Also on Wednesday it was my turn to do the 'Extra' at The Studio. We can do everything crafty so I chose to jazz up a black 12x12 bag that I had and was looking a bit boring! I used scrapping supplies to add to it. If you would like to see how I made it please visit here at The Studio as I have written a small tutorial for it.
We are also still running our design team call and it's now at the stage where the 8 finalists need your votes so go and see what the ladies have created for us!
Here are a couple of cards I made from some scraps.
I even used the tiny scraps for this one!!
That's all for now, hope you're enjoying this sunny Sunday!xx

Hand Cutting

It's been boiling here all weekend, gorgeous sun though! I've had a nice quiet weekend and got quite a few jobs done, did a bit of scrapping and I'm working on a little project, that I won't tell you about just yet!!
I haven't shown you the sewing project that I was on last week. I made these 2 small bags for a present for the baby twins I went to visit last weekend. I made some little bags for my nephew when he was born and his mum has found them really useful and is still using them now so I thought it would be a good present to give them. First one has a boat on it!
Here's a close up of the boat, I hand stitched it all, I'm quite pleased with this one!
The next one has a car on! I'm not so pleased with this one, as it's a bit of a funny shape!
On Friday I thought I would make some cupcakes and try out a new icing technique that my sis told me about. It's where you don't mix the colouring so you get 2 different colours running through it, this is my attempt!I'm quite pleased with how they turned out in the end, it makes them look really pretty!
Look at that edge of pink on this one...
My next challenge has gone up on The Studio. Today's challenge was 'Make a layout using only cardstock, patterned paper and alphabet stickers' For my layout I scrapped a photo for Hampton Court from April when we went there. I thought it needed a classical theme so I got a sheet of Laura Ashley patterned paper and cut all the flowers and vines out from it! I did have a bit of hand ache after but I think it was worth it! I didn't think it needed much else so I just matted the photo and then stuck the vines and flowers on with foam pads to make them stand out and added the title.
I do like a bit of hand cutting!
Well that it for now, I'll be back soon with some more layouts to show you! Hope you enjoyed your weekends. Thanks for looking. xx

The other thing I must mention is my lovely friend and fellow DT member, Tessa is having a fabulous giveaway on her blog, you must go and check it out there is a great prize up for grabs! She also makes and sells the most beautiful flowers too. xx

Busy Little Bee

I had such a busy time at the end of last week so I didn't get around to blogging. I had lots to do to prepare for the fayre on Saturday, it doesn't seem to matter how far in advance you start preparing for it, you always run out of time in the end! I also had a sewing project to finish off in front of the tennis, but more on that another day!

So it went something like this, on Thursday evening I went to see this...

...Strictly Come Dancing The Professionals! It was just the professional dancers from the show. It was amazing they are some really talented people and the costumes were lovely, really sparkly just how I like them!!

Friday I spend the day finishing off my sewing and making cupcakes for the fayre, I forgot to take photos of those I'm afraid! They all sold quite quickly!

In the evening my sister and brother-in-law came for the weekend. My doggie wasn't very well on Friday night so I didn't get much sleep.
Saturday was Fayre day, this was my stall, my sis will love this photo of her behind my stall posing! She helped me out though which was nice. We did quite well in the the end I sold £47 which I was quite pleased with seeing I only charge £3, £4 or £5 for it all! I have decided it's really not that easy taking photos of my jewellery on my stands! Here are a couple of photos of it but I'll try and show you more soon! This is one necklace and earring set I made, hope you like it! And here are some of my earrings. Then on Saturday evening I went to see some new born twins they were so cute and really good, I had a good cuddle!

We were meant to have my little nephew over night but luckily we didn't in the end as I needed the rest!

Sunday we had my Nan and Auntie over for Sunday dinner. Then we went to Weston Super Mare to have a walk along the beach and to see my brother. So it was a busy one but good all the same!

I didn't get around to showing you my layout for Wednesday world cup challenge at The Studio. The challenge was to use this little fellow!

'As Zakumi is the World Cup mascot, we'd like to set you the challenge of using Zakumi as your muse when creating a LO.'

This is the layout I made for it. They may have painted elephants on parade in London but in Bath we have painting lions! We recently went lion spotting and found this chap, wearing an England shirt, meet Wayne Roarney!!!I used the colours from the mascot. I dipped my paint brush into my shimmer mist to make the splodges!

Only one more world cup challenge left to go so check it out on Wednesday for the last one.

This week should be a bit quieter! I plan to do some scrapping, I need to be creative! I also have the weekend to myself so you'll find me scrapping then too!!

That was a bit of a long post, hope I didn't bore you too much! I'll be back again soon with my creations! Thanks for looking! xx
