Splash

This weeks challenge at The Studio is 'Splash! We want to see your pages about the beach, sunshine... anything summer-ish! How do you spend your summer holidays?'
This is my layout I created for it, the photo was taken on holiday in Tuscany. There is nothing better than soaking up the sun and relaxing!

I put some paint rings on using an old glue lid. I used the lovely summery October Afternoon papers and some new Thickers I got in a sale.

I really like this layout, it's one of those ones where everything fell in to place easily and I really pleased with the result.

I'm still busy making jewellery etc for my stall on Saturday, I'll have some pictures of it for you shortly!

Gorgeous weather lately it's been hot today! Shame about the footie result but we weren't good enough! I've been enjoying watching the tennis too, go Murry!

Hope you've had a good weekend, I'll be back Wednesday with my next Studio challenge for the world cup. xx

One today

Can you believe it's my little blogs Birthday today?! A whole year old, I can't believe it, it really doesn't seem like I've been blogging a year. To celebrate I made my blog a new header, hope you like it! I do really enjoy having it, it's a great way to share my scrapping and really I should blog a bit more often!!
A candle for my blog on one of my fudge muffins that I made!
While I'm here I thought I would share with you another DT layout for this Wednesday World Cup challenge at The Studio. This week the challenge was 'Use gold on your LO and to include 5 of something to represent the number of penalties each country gets to kick'.
I went with my photo of the famous golden gateway at Hampton court.
I cut out 5 leaf shapes and inked them gold then sprinkled gold embossing powder on them and wiped off bits so that only patches were left. I really like this effect so I did the same with some plain chipboard letters.
I coiled some wire and then flattened it to go with the leaves. Lots of gold ink, stamping swirls and inking edges! I must say this is one of those layouts that really does look better in real life!
I also used my Maya Road ticket stamp, I've had it for a while and haven't used it, don't know why as I do love it.

I've been looking after my little nephew today and he's been brilliant making me laugh at the little things he does he hasn't stopped!
Yay, go England, much better match today and we won! I've also been enjoying watching the tennis too.
I have been busy making things for my stall at our summer fayre in a couple of weeks and I've also done some scrapping. There's more to share so I'll be back soon. Thanks for your comments as always, they mean a lot. xx

What get's on my nerves

My latest challenge went up on The Studio today. Today's challenge was 'Grrr! What gets right on your nerves? Tell us all about it with a spot of creative therapy! Get it off your chest... you'll feel much better for it'
What gets on my nerves is trolley abandonment!! Why can't people be bothered to put the trolleys away properly?! It not as though isn't trolley parks to put them in! I took one of the photos in the airport when I was away and the other was taken at our local supermarket, I did get some funny looks taking photos of trolleys! I got the stop sign from Google images and printed it off and stuck it on. I also used my lovely new Thickers that I picked up in a sale. The arrow is pointing to the trolley park that was right next to where to the trolley were abandoned!! As you can tell it really does get on my nerves! I even have to tidy the trolley parks every time I put my trolley in, as they are such a mess!!!

Don't forget there's another world cup challenge at the Studio on Wednesday so check it out.

I'll be back again soon. Thanks for looking. xx

Flying the Flag

Just thought I pop in and show you my layout for the latest World cup challenge on The Studio that went up today.
The Challenge is to Scrap using only the colours on your country's flag (and black).
Obviously the colours of my flag are red and white, which I found quite difficult as I don't have that many red and white papers so I went with my red mist instead! Thank goodness we could use black as well to help make it work!
I used some old peel offs that I seem to have quite a lot of, I know everyone must have some laying around, it's not just me is it?! I stuck the peel offs on my cardstock before i misted it to make the star outlines, I'm really pleased with how they worked. This is it just misted.
And this is a close up of the result.
Go and check out what the other DT created and we also have some guest designers too, they all came up with great layouts. Don't forget that there's also a great prize to be won too!
I have a lovely day looking after my little nephew today he was as good as gold and he had great fun too!
I have been asked to sell my jewellery at our village fete again this year. It's in about 2 weeks so that how long I have to make some new jewellery and I'm going to make some cards to sell on my stall too so I better get busy! xx

A kick about

I'm been loving scrapping since I've been back from my holiday so I've been doing lots! The week off seems to have given me some new inspiration! First up I made a layout for the Sarah Cards challenge to use paint. I got the bubble wrap out again! It's another layout for my nephew's album.
And a bit of dry brushing. I do love using paint, I like all the different effects you can get with it.
Next up I must tell you about all the new and exciting things that are happening over at The Studio! There has been lots going on with the design team and Amanda so things went a little bit slack but we have all pulled together to do it as a team now so we are all back up and running!
This was my layout for last Sunday challenge which was 'have you ever scrapped a page about someone you've never met? Now's your chance! It could be your idol, or just someone who has touched your life in some way, but you've never had the pleasure of meeting them'.
I did this layout about my great grandparents that I was never lucky enough to meet. I always hear so many happy memories about them and their names are always mentioned. This is the first old photo that I've scrapped can you believe it! I asked my Nan for the photo of them and she loved the idea of me scrapping about them. I wanted to make a layout my nan would like too so it's a bit different for me!
Today we are kicking off (get it!!!) a special set of challenges today for the world cup at The Studio. So if you get a bit bored with all the footie go and check them out, they are some great challenges to get you inspired.
Don't forget there is still a new challenge every Sunday and an extra project every Wednesday too.

I don't think I got around to showing you this layout that I did for The Studio a while ago for the challenge 'Technology'. It's all about how I love technology and love to see all the new things that come out and how I don't know what I'd do without my Ipod!
First time I've ever cut out a photo on a layout, I really like it might have to do it again!
I've got more projects on the drawing board so to speak, so watch this space!! xx

Hello...

...I'm back from my week away in Tuscany, we had a fab time and I've come back with a lovely golden tan! This was our villa for the week it was gorgeous!
The pool was really close to the villa and it even had 2 pet chickens that hung around in the grounds which my nephew loved to feed!
It was really warm all week but not too hot that you couldn't do anything so quite a lot of time was spent like this...

And in it too! This is everyone, thanks to the beauty of the self timer!!We did some sight seeing too. The villa was in a good place in the middle so we could go to places that we wanted to see, that weren't too far away from the villa.
This is Sienna which was beautiful which is the square where the famous horse race takes place. And we went to Florence...... and saw the very famous Michelangelo's David. This is the replica of it outside but we actually went to see the the real one, we had to queue for over an hour to get in but it was amazing to see.We also saw lots of pretty towns in between too, I won't bore you too much for lots of photos as you will be seeing a lot more in layouts as I will be making a album of it for my mum so watch this space! It's in the planning at the moment!

I went to help with the kids at school on Monday, they are learning about the life cycle of a sunflower so we made a big sunflower to go up on the class board. We made to from ripped paper and scrunched up tissue paper, it was good fun and everyone loved it so that was good!

I did miss being creative when I was away so I've been doing a bit of scrapping so there will be something to share soon so see you then! Thanks for looking xx
