Boys without blue!

My challenge for the 11th of April has gone up now on the new blog for The Studio. We have moved the challenge blog to blogger so hopefully it will be easier for everyone. The challenge was to make a 'boy' page without using the colour blue! Here's my take on it!

I used the lovely new October Afternoon papers. I misted around the edges of the background with yellow shimmer mist so it catches the light. Then I just added some bits of hand stitching to finish it off!
There's actually 2 challenges for the price of one today on the new blog so go and check it out!

I went to the Stitch and Creative craft show on Friday in the Shepton Mallet show ground. It was great we went after 3pm so got half price tickets, there were not even that many people there so I got a good look at everything and I managed to get myself a bargain too! I found the Amercian Crafts Dear Lizzie range that I have wanted to get for a while, I got 11 sheets of paper and some lovely Thickers for £10.99 I was well pleased with that! I got a few other bits too, some lovely ribbon and bits for my jewellery making so I'm glad I went!

I have more to share so I'll be back again soon! Hope you've had a good weekend. xx

Pepper love!

I was looking around for some inspiration for these photos of my nephew, Rowan, when I came across sketch, Twisted sketch #43 and thought I would give it a go! I had to scrap about my nephew's Pepper Pig pyjamas as they have been added to the many other Pepper Pig items he has, he LOVES Pepper! Pepper was one of his first words!!
I had a fab weekend in London they was a little incident with the car on the way up just a few miles from my sister's and we had to wait for the roadside recovery but we got there is the end!
Saturday we went to see the Olympic building site! It was great to see, they have built quite a lot already, this is the statium!
The many cranes we could see, there were over 40!
Then in the evening we when to see this, Sister Act! It was amazing I loved it! The set of the church was brilliant and the choirs of nuns sounded fab!

Sunday we went to Hampton Court and looked around the gardens. We had a picnic in it's grounds!
The gardens were lovely, so many pretty flowers and there were some great shaped trees!
It was a lovely weekend but it was tiring so I've needed to rest this past couple of days! I took loads of photos that I will have fun scrapping! The weather was gorgeous, I even caught the sun!

We've got Rowan again tomorrow so hopefully it will be another lovely day so we can be out in the garden playing! xx

Birthday bits!

Before you ask I didn't forget to come back with my challenge on Sunday! Unfortunately Amanda from The Studio has got computer problems so the challenge hasn't gone up yet, hopefully at will be sometime soon. So in the meantime I thought I would show you some other bits!

I'm ill again I have another nasty cold, I seam to pick up every bug or cold going lately. I think I must be a bit run down. I could really do without it as I going to London this afternoon for the weekend. I'm staying with my sister and brother-in-law it's my Birthday treat weekend, we are going to see Sister Act the musical on Saturday evening which I'm really looking forward too, I hope I feel better by than!

First up it's my Brother-in-law's Birthday today, Happy Birthday! Here's is the card I made him, bit different for me, my cards are usually quite simple but I fancied doing a bit different! I used the new OA papers for it. I'll see him this evening to celebrate, it will be a double Birthday treat weekend, I've even made him some cupcakes!

I recently made this layout that I haven't showed you yet. the photos are from my mum's 60th Birthday she was struggling to find enough puff to blow out the 60 candles on her cake, I had to help her in the end!!
I embossed some little cake stamps and coloured them with watercolour pencils and raised them up on foam pads.
Better go and eat some lunch before we go to London, gorgeous day for a drive!
Have a good weekend whatever you are doing!
Thank you for your comments, they are always much appreciated! xx

Springing

Oh I've been a bad blogger and neglected my poor little blog! I don't know where the days have gone. Thought I better do a bit of an update!
I had a lovely Birthday got lots of lovely cards and pressies. In the afternoon I when out for tea and cake at a local farm shop with my parents and auntie. In the field right by the car park were these little chaps!
I happened to have my camera in my bag and manged to capture this little lamb springing into the air! They were having a great time springing up and down and they are so cute! It a real sign that spring is here! They will be on a layout sometime soon!

Then in the evening I went out for a meal with family to ASK. We had a lovely meal and the staff even put a candle in my pud which was really nice!
On my Birthday the gorgeous new October Afternoon papers arrived on our shores!! I had to order them there and then, I got every sheet on the new collections and a couple of extra to use as backgrounds and a sheet of the little letter stickers as they are so useful!! Aren't they lovely?!

They have already been cut into for my next challenge on The Studio on Sunday!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter, I did! This is the little finger puppet I made for my nephew, hehe he makes me laugh!! My nephew liked him anyway!

I also made these Easter cupcakes! My sister gave me some new silicone cupcake cases for my Birthday so I had to try those out!

We went out for the day with my brother and nephew on Easter Sunday. We went to Quantocks and had a lovely day we went for a walk and had a picnic. I took my cakes to have with our picnic, my nephew seemed to enjoy them!! It could of been a bit warmer but it was a lovely sunny day.
I've been quite busy crafting this week so I have a few things to show you and I'll be back on Sunday with my new challenge layout.
Hope you have a good weekend, enjoy the sunshine! xx
