Tractor Mad

Hi! I'm still here, still scrapping just haven't been posting here lately. Anyway thought I would pop in and share a layout I did recently for my nephew's scrapbook. Its a 8.5 x 11" (near A4) size layout of my nephew's passion for tractors!
I really wanted to try the paint drips on the background, it went ok for the first attempt but I think I need to try it again.

I found some tractor paper in my stash so I had to cut two out to use as embellishments, I raised them up on foam pads. I like the bright colours but added the black here and there to it to tone it down little, I like how it looks.

Thanks for stopping by! Xx

Just fishing

I have made quite a few layouts but haven't shared them so here's one I did for The Studio Challenges a while back when we joined up with Stick it down. They provided us with a sketch and we came up with the challenge of using a song title.
Heres the layout I created using the sketch, the photos are of my nephews stick fishing.
The fish actually started out as a mistake as I got some paint over on that side of the layout which looked out of place so I added the fish on the string and then made my own little fishing rod to go down the other side. Quite pleased with how it turned out in the end.

For the title I didn't know many fishing songs so I Googled fishing songs and thought Just fishin' fitted quite well.

The look of Love

Here's a layout I did for my nephew's album, of him and his mum.

Quite a quick layout but Im pleased with how it turned out.
I used green watercolour on the background with blue splatters, I layered bits behind the photo and punched out some tiny hearts and hand cut the title love from some patterned paper then added letter stickers and journalling.

Flower Festival

It's a double! It's a rare occurrence lately but sometimes you just have so many lovely photos from one event it has to be done!

When I went to Madeira's Flower Festival a couple of years ago it was so bright and colourful I took hundreds of photos, I was really pleased with lots of them. It was really hard to pick just these and actually I think I could probably do another double layout with more!
I wanted the photos to shine so left the layout quite simple, using  a couple of stencils to pick out the colours, a strip of floral paper (a favourite of mine) to go across the bottom of both pages with a thin ribbon, lovely glittery Thickers and bright flowers at each end to finish.

Autumn Table Setting

I made this layout quite a while ago now and I haven't shared it so I thought it was about time. I did it from one of the challenges from The Studio Challenges. We had a picture of a table setting to inspire us.

I loved how inspired I got when I really looked at the table setting, it really said autumn to me. I picked the colours for my layout from it, the bit of green from the moss in the picture etc, I used Thickers the same texture and colour of the throw and blind, a bit of black with white pen like the blackboard, a wide ribbon that's similar to the place mats and a wooden button from the cushion in the table setting!
Quite pleased with how this turned it. I have more layouts to share, hopefully I won't leave it that long next time!
Thanks for looking!

Grandad's Girl

I had this photo printed off for years waiting to be scrapped but I think I got a bit scared to do it as it the last photo I have of me and my grandad together. I was a complete Grandad's girl I loved him to bits so the photo means a lot to me. I came across the photo again recently when I was sorting my stash and I thought I just have to do it as it needs to be in my album. I was a bit worried my layout wouldn't be good enough for it so I decided to go quite simple and let the photo speak for itself.

The layout started with the photo and title that I hand cut out of some paper I know my Grandad would of loved as it was his favourite colours and it also went well with my top in the photo. I then just used the same colours in the mist in the background and the embellishments I used, the star or flower shapes were also hand cut from of another old sheet of patterned paper I had.
In the end I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and it is so nice to have it in my album at last!
Thanks for looking xx
