Mixed Media Canvases...

...are my new passion, I LOVE them!
I thought it was about time I got around to showing you my first mixed media canvas I made ages ago, this was to blame to getting me hooked on them!!
This one doesn't photograph that well but you get the idea! I've come a long way since this one as I've now made lots!! I've even started selling them! I will be sharing them with you along the way!
This one is for my bedroom so I did it me favourite colours and sparyed it with silver glimmer mist so it catches the light!

I really love making them and can't stop, I have so many ideas for them!! So I now have an Etsy shop to sell my canvases and I recently sent one to America!

I'll be back with more soon!
Thanks for looking! xx

Pepper Cake

This time the challenge at The Studio was all about negatives, in anyway you can so I went for a misted rectangle mask to leave to negative and punch outs!
The photo is of the Pepper pig cake I made a couple of years ago that I haven't managed to scrap yet! I used lots of layers and bright summery colours. This challenge is great for using up scrap paper that you have  used punches, something that you would probably throw away works really well on a layout!
We still have the Jenni Bowln DT joining in with us at The Studio this week so there's loads of inspiration and there's another gift voucher up for grabs so go check it out!
Back soon! xx

Jubilation

Had a bit of a week last week, I was feeling run down and had to have a break, feeling better now though thank goodness! So a bit of a catch up is needed!
Last Sunday's challenge at The Studio was to go vintage! I was late uploading my layout but managed to do it and it's there now! It's quite exciting over at The Studio this month as we have the Jenni Bowlin DT joining in with us and you can win not one but two prizes from them too!
As it was jubilee weekend I was inspired to scrap about the queen! I thought it needs to be in my album for years to come.
I not really one for vintage I prefer bright colours but I enjoyed doing this challenge and sometimes there are times when you need to use vintage! I used my Old Type embellishment kit from The Make and Create shop as it is vintage inspired which need it easier for me as it was all in one kit! Everything apart from the Kraft border and Thickers is from the kit!
I used my nice script stamp on the background in places, I love this paper from Crate Paper it goes great with it!

On to the Jubilee weekend celebrations!
Saturday I did a local village day I took my Phoenix Cards to sell, it was a bit quiet but didn't do too badly in the end!
Sunday I went to my aunties for Sunday dinner with family and to watch the queen in the flotilla of course!
And Monday was our village street party! It was great to see so many people out enjoying themselves, I took some good snaps that I will scrap shortly! Here's some of them!
The little cupcakes I made for the party, there was loads of food!!
These tables went on forever!!

These cupcakes I made for family, I went a bit crazy with the decoration!!!
Hope you've made it to the end of this long post! Thanks for looking!
Back soon xx

Fishcake

I don't know where this week has gone, I don't seemed to off achieved much for it!!
I manage to whip up one layout though!
It's of the fish cake I made my Dad's for his 60th Birthday. I was trying out my new wavy template to create a splashy effect!

I had a busy day yesterday making these little chaps!
I made some pirate cupcakes for my nephew almost a year ago for his Birthday and someone saw them and ordered some for her little boys! They do take a while to make but I think they are worth in in the end! It wasn't that nice to make them in this heat though, a bit sticky!

Then last night I went to Bath Abbey to see a jubilee celebration of music with the local choirs, which was nice, it was so busy though that we had couldn't see anything so had to watch it on a screen which was a shame!

Back soon! xx

Room for Pudding?

Todays challenge at The Studio is all about favourites but not in the way you think! We set the challenge for your scrappy favourites, what are your favourite product and technique to use when scrapping lately?
I think I have too many I couldn't really get it down to one each so I did quite a few in the end, here's my layout:
Look at the size of this pudding!! When my we went out for my Dad's 60th Birthday meal in January, my sister had the biggest pudding ever!! She tried her best but just couldn't finish it!

My favourite products were white card stock, paint, buttons and Thickers! Favourite techniques dry brushing paint and clustering!

I've been busy this week adding new product to my Facebook page of my shop, there's lots of new things including my mixed media canvases which I'll be back in another post about I really love making them! You can see them here with everything else!

I'm planning on having a scrappy week this week so hopefully I should get some layouts done! There are quite a few things I want to document had haven't been yet!

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you leave, they are much appreciated. xx

A Mixed Title

Another layout I made using the Spring Zing kit from The Make and Create shop. I clustered quite a few embellishments next to this photo of the cupcakes I made for Easter.
I wanted to make the cupcake tops look like grass so I tried a different piping nozzle with some green icing, didn't turned out quite as I hoped though! I took them down to my brother's and gave one to my nephew and the first thing he said was 'They look just like grass!', that little man knows how to make his auntie happy!!

I have a bit of a Thicker problem, doesn't anyone?!! I have lots of packets with vowels missing or lots of other letters used etc and I can't seen to throw them away!! So I had to find a way of using them some how so I made a mixed title, I really like how it looks though so might have to use more of them and give those poor Thickers a home!!

Thanks for stopping by. xx

Quirky

Today's challenge at The Studio was a sketch it is a lovely sketch taken from a favourite DT layout. This is the layout I made from it!

Crafty Templates is our sponsor for this month at The Studio and I was lucky enough to be given one of their lovely Quirky Kit to create with! Everything apart from the letters and bit of twine is from the Photo Op  kit (which is now sold out!) They have also given a lovely kit full of goodies as a prize for the winner of this months challenges!
I used some of the packet of tags from the kit to make into the banner, I just punched holes in them!
I think this layout is a bit different for me, you could say it's a bit quirky (get it?!)!! I really enjoyed making it, I like trying different things out and I'm really pleased with the result!!
You must go and see the great sketch and all the design teams takes on it, they are brilliant!

I've been working hard on new things for my shop that will be in the shop soon but I can't show you just yet! I have got another layout to share though so I will be back with that soon!
Thanks for Stopping by! xx
