A couple more

I have a couple more layouts to share with you from the weekend. I bought these lovely journaling spots from Folksy a while ago, you can get them here. They are really good, I can see I will be useing them lots. I used one of them on this layout using Cosmo, Earth Love. The photos are from our holiday last year in the Lake District. We went to see a big waterfall and down by it there was this old tree where loads of people had stuck 1ps and 2ps in it for luck it looked great so had to take some photos!
The next layout is from last Christmas. I haven't scrapped any photos from Christmas yet as it brings back bad memories because I was so ill with a bug but it was my nephews first Christmas so I had to scrap that! I used My Minds Eye, Be Merry, I love these papers, I've had it for a while waiting to be used. Sorry the photos are a bit dark cos of the dull weather.
I cut the snowmen and trees from the other papers and raised them up on foam.
Talking of Christmas, I have had my first few orders for Christmas cards yay! That will kept me busy, making them!
My gorgeous October Afternoon papers arrived, they did take a while to get here because of the postal strikes. I'm now in the middle of creating some layouts with them.
I've got more to share soon!
Thanks for your Lovely comments they mean a lot. xx

Seeing Clearly

Here's the acrylic album I made for my sister-in-law. I started it ages ago and then picked it up again and managed to finish it for her Birthday a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed making it and I will definitely make another. I really got in to it in the end and have more ideas to try out. I used lots of different papers that I collected for it and small Thickers for the title on the front. You can see it that well but I printed the edges of the pages with white paint.

A bit more paint in green this time! The orange swirls on the edge of the photo I drew with permanent marker.

I must say I do love these Laura Ashley velvet rub-ons. I got them in a shop I went to as they were on sale but they are really worth it. I also used Daisy D rub-ons too, they do look really good on the acrylic.
I had a lovely, busy weekend, it was nice to see my sis and brother-in-law and it was a lovely family party for my auntie's Birthday and she really enjoyed it too!
I've ordered the new October afternoon paper so they should be on there way to me, I can't wait!!
We've had my little nephew this afternoon so I off to have a rest!!
Thanks for looking. x

Innocence

A bit more to share with you. A layout and a couple of cards.
This layout is another one for my nephew's album. I love this photo of him, he has such a innocent look on his face! I used My Minds Eye, Abbey Road papers and jillibean letters.

I did a bit of distressing and over lapping on this cardstock under the title. I then cut elements out of the paper and raised them up for my own embellishments.
This is a wedding card I was asked to make for someone. Sorry not a very good photo of it, the paper is actually light green!
Here's another birthday card for my cousin on his Birthday, I kept it simple! I got those Thickers I told you about, they were a bargin from Sarah's cards. I got 5 packs, I think I'm getting addicted!! Now I have to go and get the new October Afternoon papers because they are so lovely!

I'm going to a quiz night tonight, it's a fundraiser for the NSPCC. Not sure what it will be like, I let you know how we get on!!

Plans for the weekend, my sister and brother-in-law are coming down for the weekend to see us. It's also my auntie's birthday on Sunday so she's having a family party so it should be good.

I will have more to share soon so watch this space!!
Have a great weekend. xx

Organised

Here are a few crafty things to catch up on. This is a Wedding card I was asked to make by my brother and sister-in -law for a wedding they went to. I went to a local craft shop and saw some really nice lace at really good prices so I bought few a lot and used a bit on the card.

This is another card I made for my Sister-in-law as it was her birthday on Monday.
This is a layout I made last weekend. The photos were taken at my nephews Birthday party. All the grown-ups were having lots of fun in my nephews new sand pit! I used October Afternoon papers and letters, I love the bright colours. There's been quite a lot about Christmas around so I thought it was time to get organised! I bought a pad of DCWV Christmas papers and have started making my Christmas cards! I'm really pleased with myself as I usually leave it a bit to late up to Christmas and panic to get them finished. The cards are quite a simple design but I think they work quite well.
I'm off to go a place an order as I've seen some Thickers on sale!!
Thanks for looking.

Catch up

It's been a bit of a week, this week haven't been feeling that good as I've been busy so this will be a bit of a catch up.
Family picnic (a couple of weekends ago). We went to Witney near Oxford, it's a lovely little town. We found a lovely park to sit in to have our picnic. It was quite a nice day sunny in the morning and then it did cloud over a bit in the afternoon but at lease it wasn't as cold as last year!
It was quite a spread, we all bought different dishes so it was yummy! My brother-in-law was looking through my new cupcake book a while ago and asked me to make these, toffee apple cupcakes! They were meant to look like this:
Here's my attempt! I was quite impressed with how they turned out in the end. It wasn't very easy though! It was fun to make the caramelized sugar shapes but the icing was quite difficult as it set really quickly!
They went down well though every one was quite impressed!! They were yummy, they had a nice crunch when you bit into them!
We then have a nice scroll around the canal to let it all down down. It was a lovely day and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Last weekend we had my nephew over night as his parents were at a wedding. He was very good but now he has found his feet all he wants to do is walk around the house investigating everything, he really kept us on our toes!! He slept really well and didn't wake up until 7 so that was good. He didn't go home until early evening on Sunday so by the time he went he had worn me out!! I've been paying for it a bit this week.
On Tuesday I went to my old primary school to help out with they art and craft. It was nice to meet the new ones in the class. We are making a really big picture to go along the wall in the classroom. They are learning about Brunel so it's of a big bridge with a train on it and houses and the sea, it's from a story book they are reading. They were really good and they enjoyed doing something on a big scale for a change.
Well I think that's it for now next post will be a crafty one! My parents are away this weekend so I have a quiet weekend planned, scrapping yay!
Have a good weekend.

Beep Beep

Well, I have finally got around to uploading the photos of my nephew's birthday album. Sorry it's taken me so long, I hope it's worth the wait!!
It's the first year of his life, a photo every couple of months. The last one was taken on his first birthday. The papers were a pad of K&company Itsy Bitsy range. They went really well with the album.

I'm off to decorate the cupcakes I've made for our family picnic tomorrow. We are going near Oxford as it's kind of half way for my sister and brother-in-law. Fingers crossed the weather will be good. It was a freezing day last year and that was in July!
Thanks for looking. Have a good weekend.
